CHAPTER NINE

Power of Harnessed Strength

Everything alive is endowed with inbuilt strength for survival. You cannot rise to the top
in life if you ignore your God-given strength. Every creation is gifted with strength. There
is power in nature; there is capacity in creature. A deep study of animals unveils the
capacity each animal runs with. The eagle bird has capacity to soar so high to airplane
level in the sky and beyond. The bird can look directly at the sun from a close range. The
camel has a massive travel power. Trees, plants, seeds and nature are endowed with
strengths. The human intelligence designs inventions and products with specific
capacities. The world is designed to function through capacity and it takes the creative
engagement of its power to be significant.
9:1 Endowed Strength
You are gifted with all you need to execute the purpose you were created to fulfill. The
importance of identifying your strength and being strengthened in it is fundamental to
fulfilling destiny and having a quality life. You will have nothing to negotiate through life
if you are not running on strength. We are all gifted as humans but differently endowed.
Your Unique Selling Point (U.S.P.) is the strength you are endowed with to function
through life. You cannot attain your best in life if you operate outside your strength
cover. The race of life will be a lost battle if you are not strengthened in your ability to
live for purpose.
Be conscious of your endowed strength. That is the weapon you have to take on the
world. How well you engage your strength goes far in determining the space you occupy
on earth. Dig for the best of your strength as with the commitment of digging for
diamond, and in actual sense, your strength if well harnessed will yield the premium of
diamond’s worth. The best you can ever attain with your life is coded in the strength
you are endowed with. What you do with your strength is how you define your life.
You have the responsibility to work out your strength. The web spiders leverage on is
produced from within. One of life’s greatest tragedies is unused potentials dying within.
Dr Myles Monroe of blessed memory in his ground breaking book, ‘Maximizing your
Potential’ stated, “One of the greatest tragedies in life is to watch potential die
untapped. A greater tragedy is to watch potential live unreleased.” He then made a bold
statement that summarizes one of my key messages to young people, “The releasing of
your potential is not up to God but you.” The truth is, the responsibility to use the
strength God has endowed you with is yours alone.
To harness your strength you need to be disciplined and focused. Samson the machoman Bible character exposed his strength when he could have harnessed it and he paid
dearly for it. He lacked discipline and short changed his destiny. Give the best of your
attention to the maximization of your strength. Champions are made from the game of
diving into the deep. The chance you have in getting desirable result is secured in the
intensity of your ability to put on track the peak of your strength brand. The drive will
demand much from you. The result of your desire is possible but you have to trade for it
giving all you’ve got.
9:2 Self-Discovery
If you release yourself, no one can stop you. Be the one to define your game and decide
how far you can go. People or circumstances should not determine your limit. Your life
is up to you. Drive yourself to an amazing height. You are as deserving and capable as
anyone great; living or dead.
DISCOVER WHO YOU ARE – What you are cut out for.
DISCOVER WHAT YOU HAVE – What you are gifted with.
DEPLOY WHAT YOU CAN DO – What you can deliver on.
The mission of self-discovery will stretch you. You need the stretch process to widen
your chances. Get on it. If you shy away from the stretch process, you won’t discover
and harness your strength. Christiano Ronaldo’s transfer from Manchester United to
Real Madrid shocked the world in what became football’s biggest transfer deal at that
time. Real Madrid paid a whooping Eighty Million Pounds to have him. The world
concluded football had gone crazy but an old team mate (Roy Keane) said they got him
cheap. He is sure plugged to his strength.
9:3 How To Harness Strength
Locate your strength and get ready to take on the world. It is not enough to know what
your strength is, you must be willing to grow it to the killing point that its flavour draws
the attention of your world to you.
9:4 Maximized Strength
On the journey of harnessing your strength, you must be willing to devote time, invest
money, insert energy and be absolutely passionate about your strength. Always
remember you are a major player in the outcome of your life. You can’t hold anyone
responsible for how you turn out. In your race to reach the top, negotiating life through
strength is vital and decisive. If you are plugged to your strength, you will generate the
right energy you need to take on life’s demands. Get on the advantage. Play on your
strength. Decide the quality of life you desire to live. Your future is at your mercy. Dr.
Mensa Otabil, got this to say, “The future has no power to design itself. It only takes the
form and shape of our actions and inactions today.” We are absolutely responsible for
the kind of future we harvest. If you drive this through to the consciousness of your
entire being, how you think would be revolutionized.
Life is hard but only on struggling people. Etisalat promotes ‘comfort zone’ – the place of
advantage. What your ‘comfort zone’ is, is the point of your strength. If you can either
create or seize the moment to engage the best of your strength, the result you will get
will lift you to the place of honour and relevance with glowing life colours. In practical
terms, your strength is God’s inbuilt advantage given you over life. Do you desire the
best of life? Be your best, harness your strength.
Joanne Rowling, a struggling single parent lived in poverty, having to survive on almost
nothing. Life was horrible for her. She was exposed to hellish struggle at a tender age.
Joanne was seventeen years old when she was rejected from college; she was divorced
from an abusive marriage at twenty-eight years and diagnosed with severe depression.
When she was thirty years old, she wanted to end her life but she found courage to race
on through life. She then decided to harness her writing strength and wrote a book after
several attempts that sold over eleven million copies all around the world. Joanne
Rowling was named the author of the year and she broke the spine of poverty and
rejuvenated her life. She is listed amongst the richest Britons. What an amazing turn
around! She raised her courage to trade with her strength and she created her space,
life answered to her. This is how it works.
